Woodford Reserve has released a new limited-edition expression as part of their on-going Distillery series – Barrel Finished Rye.
This Woodford Reserve rye was finished in a custom second barrel made of new American oak that has been lightly charred and heavily toasted, which brings out even more flavors, according to Master Distiller Chris Morris.
What makes this expression unique is the process of twice-barreling the rye, a process usually dedicated to Woodfords Double Oaked bourbon. The result is a rich, robust and spicy version of Woodford Reserve Rye.
Barrel Finish Rye can now be purchased at the Woodford Reserve Distillery or at selected locations throughout Kentucky. The suggested retail price is $49.99 for a 375ml bottle. Because of its limited availability, you may have to do some searching online or make a trip to Kentucky to get your hands on a bottle.
